Anne Koyama is my publisher and my friend. If you’ve been lucky enough to run into her, you know how awesome she is, or are learning. And if not, I encourage you to hunt her down. Or check out any of the wide WIDE array of artists she publishes at Koyama Press. I suspect that humble Anne would prefer this most of all.
I should say that this character design is swiped from Aaron Leighton, who originally designed the Koyama “Kickass Annie” logo. I also folded in a healthy dose of Michael Deforge, although admittedly a pidgin version of his awesome “small cartoon” style.
Yay Annie! Her bandaged twixies are sooo cute!
Wow, this brought tears to my eyes! What a touching comic, Dustin. I tell the story of Anne Koyama to anyone who will listen – she’s such a tremendous inspiration and example of how to live. And, she’s *SO* NICE! SO SUPER-NICE!
Yeah she’s pretty nice I GUESS! Next week I’m going to do about her bad side. “Anne Koyama: Eater of Babies?”
i got a little teary! :’)
If that’s one of her secrets of success, I should consider eating babies as well! Maybe you could do a gruesome how-to exposé.
very inspiring story :)
Such a great tribute to a great person. ♡
a lovely comic about the loveliest person in the whole wide world. thanks!
