NEW STRIP :: Favoritest Movie Ever, Improved At Last.
December 8th, 2008 — 08:01 amWhat would The Godfather have looked like if it were done by Dustin Harbin? Geez, I can’t count how many times I’ve heard just that question. I’ve long suspected that a brilliant cast, incredible cinematography and editing, and a score like God’s own sad trumpet are little more than distractions from the story itself. View, if you will, The Godfather in comics form:

You might know this… how is the Godfather tied to Native Americans? We stopped by the NA museum in DC on Saturday, and they were going to be showing it.

Huh–you’ve got me there, Chris. I can’t think of anything to do with Native Americans in The Godfather. In the process of drawing this strip I watched one of the ZILLION documentaries in that DVD box set, but there was no mention of any Native Americans.
Maybe because Brando was a big proponent of Native American rights? That was his big deal in the 70’s-80’s, going to sit-ins, although they were called something else.

Great page. Especially the last panel. Great idea for a series. I think you should do Smokey and the Bandit. Can’t wait to see more.

I actually have another one in the can already, but I think I want to do Indians first. I won’t say what the subject is, but I will say that Eddie Murphy was much funnier back in the 80’s.

Don’t forget the next “Wasting time with Dylan” ie: “the Obama non-drama”…
What are you doing this saturday? Let’s find a Roses’ and Christmas shop for our mothers.
Maybe SkyCity?

Dylan, I have a rule–I only SHOPLIFT at Roses. Don’t tell my mom–it’ll ruin Christmas!

You are clearly insane.

Whoah -what? Dustin – I had no idea you were a SICK draftsman. Your line work is confident and pure, balanced and measured- it’s alive! Next time I see you at Heroes, I’m looking for some kind of art from you, for sure. Glad you have this blog going – I’ll be stopping by frequently, as long as you keep posting drawings like this.
