I enjoyed ice SKATING very much during the Olympics, very athletic, competitive, a mix of form and function that I enjoy. BUT Ice Dancing is basically ballroom dancing on ice. I submit that any event that is decided by judges is NOT a sport. Don't get me wrong, I think they are all amazing athletes... but being judged on "artistic merit" is so not a way to decide who is the best at something in the world.
