I’m teaching 2 short comics classes for the next three Thursdays — August 9, 16, and 23 — at Greenhorn Studios here in Hot Charlotte, North Carolina. The first class, from 5:15 to 6:15, is for youngerish kids, say from 8 or 9 up to 11 or 12 I think — I’m guessing, let’s be honest here — and is focused on manga-type stuff like Dragonball Z and Pokemon. The second class, 6:30 to 7:30, is for olderish kids, let’s say teenagers, and is more about straight-up comics drawing, tools, lettering, stuff like that.

Whatever the exact subject matter, what I like to focus on is basic drawing and thinking about drawing, creating good habits, stuff like that.
