DEATH OF THE MONOLITH :: Now More Spanish Than Ever!

I just sent off the re-lettered Spanish translation (actually Galician, which somehow sounds even cooler, right?) of my Death of the Monolith strip. I’m not sure how concepts like “mountain-rape” will transfer to this new, more romantic language, but I must presume it will be INCREDIBLE.

For publication in BARSOWIA #13, published by the Polaqia artist collective in Spain. Many thanks to David Rubin, who invited me to be a part of the magazine, AND was one of the unholy triumvirate of the THE DAUGHTER OF GENERAL MELEE, along with me and Javier Olivares, which won last year’s Fistacuffs.

    ¡Muy fresco! ¡Enhorabuena!

    Wow! You're intercontinental.

And speaking of FACA, I never heard anything back from Guy, despite repeated attempts to contact him. Oh, well. Maybe if he ever comes back to Heroes Con we can try again, huh?

Goshdang it, I refuse to give up! Let me try again, Neil. On the upside, I'm a better cartoonist now than I was in June, so you'll get a better sketch out of it.

I appreciate your persistance, even if it is partially (well, primarily) for your own selfish reason of wanting to have your work on the same page as Guy Davis. ;P Ha ha. I kid.

Also, I explored the rest of your website. It looks boss. I'm going to look at my copy of Superior Showcase #3 to get a better idea of what pages are for sale.

Thanks Neil–I feel like that's my fault, not Guy's. He was ready to go at HeroesCon, and I was too swamped to sit down and draw.

Just let me know on the pages! You'd be my first original art sale. I'll warn you that the first two are by far the best, although the page with all the fart sound effects on it I like, too. Those later pages are kinda rushed.

Of course "spanish" never existed as a language: there are five "spanish" laguages: CATALONIAN, Portuguese, castilian, andalusian and Basque. (Galician is a Portuguese dialect.) Catalonian is the most important in Europe. In South America, andalusian and portuguese (in Brazil).

Galician is related to Portuguese? And you're listing Portuguese as a "Spanish" language? Interesting. I'm no linguist, but this is surprising to me.
