This week’s strip is an adaptation of an Ezra Pound poem, “Salutation,” one of my faves by him. And one of the few not choked with Greek and Latin and French–come on Ezra, speak English. Us fisherman aren’t that well educated.

Love you outdoor stuff. I was able to read the lettering just fine through the magic of "Ctrl +".
I love tone on tone color.
Thanks guys–Dylan check out this comic by Sammy Harkham: http://whatthingsdo.com/comic/elisha/ This is where I want to get eventually with color, super spare. Lots of simplifying in my future (hopefully).
great poem!! loved the fish!!
I like that direction Dustin. (And the look of the Harkham stuff.) I'm pretty anti-color in general but on the introwebs you have to use the format and that means throwing some color in there. I think it's best to not go crazy though. Most webcomics are loud and garish. Have you seen Anders Loves Maria? Engstrom's comics are pretty much full color but the color pallet is minimal and- well, just plain lovely.
Link it up dude! GET LINKIN ON IT! Link-182! Linkin Park!

Sub-text alert:
"I have seen smiles full of teeth"
AHA!
PS– Great work; I am surprised you didn't use struggling cartoonists to represent the fishermen.
But will never question your interpretation!
In for a penny; in for a Pound
You know I love a good tooth mention, Andy! I had enough troubles trying to figure out how to draw picnicking fishermen, without making them cartoonists!
This is a really gorgeous piece of work – struck me right off. And I love the idea of adapting poetry in particular. Ezra Pound is a nice (and ambitious!) choice.
