  JANUARY 5, 2009 "SEVEN RESOLUTIONS FOR THIS, THE NEW YEAR OF OUR LORD, 2009" What is it about the new year that inspires such gusto, such hope, such enthusiasm in people? Is it the death of the old year, laid away in forgotten grave, unvisited? Is it the seemingly endless vista the new year presents, rich with promise and possibility? Is it our new black president? Regardless of the answers these questions may present to you, for me the advent of 2009 produced an almost limitless wellspring of bravada, which I have endeavored in my own way to harness for personal gain.
