I also feel like I have to explain why I want plastic bags at Trader Joe’s, like hippies will rappel down from the ceiling and tut-tut me if I prefer plastic over paper. Unfortunately, this always prompts the very nice Trader Joe’s clerks to ask a bunch of cutesie questions about what kind of dog I have, then talk about their dog, etc. Greatest fear.
