This really is my favorite joke, and I really do prefer to tell it with a fake-o “new-york” accent. It always gets groans, but I love the beat-beat-beat of it, it’s very easy to tell and just confusing enough to take a half-second to get–and then groan at. Or, in comics lingo: PLOP!
